Photograph of the location of the Memorial In a unique location on The Shore, Tower Place, the ancient Inner Harbour of Leith and immediately opposite the former Seamen's Home built in 1883, now Malmaison.

It is adjacent to the Protected Visual Corridor being promoted by Forth Ports PLC and is highly visible and accessible. This is a very historic part of the harbour of Leith. The emotion of purpose of the Memorial rightfully will become part of the many centuries of heritage but also part of the on-going regeneration of Leith.
